Same Sex Marriage Laws in the United States
Introduction
Same Sex marriage laws are a common issue in the United States. It is constantly being debated about. Only about 20 cities offer registration of same sex relationships. However, they carry little or no legal worth. Gay and lesbian marriages were legal for a few hours in early December 1996 in Hawaii after a court ruling. A stay of the ruling was obtained by the state of Hawaii shortly afterwards. The people of Hawaii later passed a constitutional amendment prohibiting same sex marriages. That is just a short history of same sex marriages in the United States.

My initial position was for same sex marriage. I think that homosexuals should be allowed to do whatever makes them happy...
