I am a Norman Boy. I live in Ireland. Our civilisation started when King Edward of England died in 1066 3 men claimed to have claim to the throne. These men were Harold, Earl of Wessex, Hardrada-King of Norwaym and William-Duke of Normany. Almost immediately Harold defeated Hardrada. William then marched to England with a huge army and defeated Harold in the bloody Battle of Hastings. Becaus of Williams success he became known as William the Conquerer. I know all this because English monks wrote about it all in the Anglo Saxon Chronicles. They clearly supported Harold's claim to the throne. Another source of information is the Bayeux Tapestry...
