This story is so good," one character remarks during Over the River and Through the Woods, "you don't need food." In this family, that's really saying something.
Nick Cristano (Ross DeGraw) spends every Sunday eating a huge lunch with both sets of his Italian immigrant grandparents, all four of whom fully embrace the idea of "tengo familia" family comes first. After lunch, while they all chat or play games together, his grandmother Aida (Linda Snow) will frequently ask, "Who's hungry?" Even when Nick just pops in for a visit, she will insist on at least making him a sandwich. Sure, it can annoy Nick at times, but it's just another manifestation of his family's love for him and for each other.
Which makes it all the more awkward when Nick is offered a promotion that would necessitate a move from the friendly confines of Hoboken, N.J., all the way across the continent to Seattle. This news is a veritable stab in the heart to his grandparents...
