Ecosystems and how they work
It is absolutely amazing to once again come to the realization or to remember the undeniable importance of the Ecosystems for all living creatures. The entwined relationships that exists in nature, the species, the populations, the landscape, the biosphere, the organic, the inorganic, the nutrient cycles, energy flows, it is a perfect system; however, revolutionary changes in human culture through the ages have indeed affected the relationship between us humans and the environment. Due to humans overriding existence in the earth, many natural resources as previously described and ecosystems have been gradually replaced with the invention of agriculture and the unavoidable growth and expansion of population that we refer to suburban developments. We humans love to enjoy the gifts of nature like wood, food; however, we must learn to manage natural ecosystems if we want to continue to enjoy those gifts in the future.
There have been three revolutions that have impacted the the human relationship with the environment. Those thre revolutions are: The Neolithic, the Industrial and the Environmental revolutions.
The Neolithic revolution impacted that mentioned relationship between humans and the environment with the invention of agriculture. This development, agriculture, tended to provide an abundant supply of food. Agriculture also required that settlements and groups of people to specialize in different crops or different kinds of foods.
