Critique of the Cooperative Test taking technique

SYNOPSIS: The article was a research, analysis, and discussion on the positive effects of cooperative, compared to individual, test-taking, studying, and learning. The authors' conclusions were well supported by their results of experiments conducted. They believed that cooperative teamwork in learning and test-taking increases students' overall performance both academically and psychologically. This method of peer partnership has actually worked for the authors, who are also educators at prestigious universities. They claimed that students in college who studies individually and does poorly are a result of many factors that are unfair to their academic experience. In addition, for those students that does well and participates in cooperative learning and testing does not affect their abilities negatively, but enhances their level of reasoning and interactive relations. The students agree that working together elevates their confidence, reduces their test anxiety, and they especially enjoy the subject matter a lot more. Thus, the authors argue that cooperative testing generates "more gain with less pain."
