The management styles of Joe, Rob and Rosalie appear to be very different in the case study. They all have different ways of dealing with situations in the hope that things will run smoothly and efficiently.
Joe Kimberly is the managing director of the company who appears to show characteristics of both the styles of a democratic and lacier faire manager. There is also an example that appears he is maybe a little autocratic. His democratic approach comes from the acceptance of Rosalie's proposal which shows that he is ready and willing to listen and allow others to participate in any form that benefits the company. He also allows his management team to implement their own strategies regarding the supervision of staff, because he would expect this to have a large impact on the motivation and efficiency of employees.
His lacier faire approach appears to come about by the fact that he went on a trip to France. This was not the first time that Joe had done this and so shows that he has a lot of trust in his employees to get the job done on their own. This was especially surprising considering he had just recruited Rosalie and wasn't there to see how she approached the implementation of her theories about a human resource and personnel department.
The evidence that shows Joe may have a slightly autocratic management style is by the way he employed Rosalie without consulting any other member of staff...
