The debate on abortion has been a controversial topic for many years. ... Many people have mixed emotions about whether or not abortion should be legal. People’s morals and values take control on their decision over feelings about abortion. Should women have the right to choose whether or not to have an abortion? There have been several court cases, violent acts, and protests in the battle over abortion. ... Wade, abortion was legal. ... This law stated that before the fetus “quickened”, an abortion is not considered a crime (Craig, OBrien 39). In the 1800’s one of the first protests against abortion arose by physicians. They believed that abortion at any stage of pregnancy was wrong. After the civil war, the abortion protests began increasing (Andryszewski 16). Abortion became illegal in the United States by the 1900’s (Andryszewski 18).
