Human milk is biologically specific for newborn babies. The milk contains factors which promote brain growth and is rich in enzymes, hormones and immunoglobulins which can not be duplicated. Breast-fed milk is composed of living tissue which conforms to the individual needs of each baby. Unlike breast milk, bottle-fed milk lacks nutrients destroyed during the formulating process. Bottle-fed infants are more likely to suffer from inner ear and lower respiratory infections. In fact babies which are bottle-fed are sixteen times more likely to become ill in the first two months of life.
Although breast-feeding is beneficial to infants it can be quite a discomfort for mothers. To control leakage due to lactation, restrictive, uncomfortable, and unsupportive nursing bras are necessary. As milk is repeatedly produced and released breasts become painfully tender and loose firmness. Since the baby is once again dependent on the mother's body for nourishment while breast-feeding, she must maintain a healthy diet to ensure that suitable milk is produced...
