Introduction
Arthur Miller's Death of A Salesman is a telling story about a father and a salesman that places a high value upon being well liked. He thinks the keys to success are being popular and having good looks. As a result, the central character lacks some of the common qualifications that are truly valuable in becoming well liked and successful. He feels he must impress the people around him at all costs, he is willing sacrifice his morality as well as lie to keep his image in tact. This tragic story shows how others around him are well upon the path to success but every thing he touches and experiences leads to failure. This report will discuss some of the attitudes of the central character, Willy Loman, and evaluate some of the possibilities as to why he was doomed to failure.

Death of a Salesman is a fascinating study of human nature. Everyone wants to be liked but quite often people who set this as their number one goal will fail. The main character of the story, Willy Loman, proved this hypothesis. Willie was a traveling salesman that based his life upon being well liked...
