Like in other countries worldwide, the history of soccer in Mexico goes back to the time of his first civilizations. In the pre-Columbian civilizations, like the Aztec and the tolteca, there was already a game very similar to the present soccer practiced, in which their participants, on a land of game in form of I, marked points when they obtained that the ball crossed a line of goal.
On 1927, the Mexican Federation of Football was founded (FMF). Two years later, the federation was associated to the FIFA. Mexico was one of the thirteen nations that participated in the first world-wide championship of history, the World-wide Cup of the FIFA Uruguay 1930.
Since 1950, the country was classified for six consecutive final phases of the World-wide Cup of the FIFA. Nevertheless, the Mexican selection was able to advance only until the second phase in the edition of the championship celebrated in its own country. In the World-wide Cup of the FIFA Mexico 1970, Italy was in charge to eliminate the host selection in the quarterfinals.
Then in 1986, Mexico received for the second time the honor to become its host. With just a very short time organizing the contest, Mexico accepted the order after Colombia, the first option, who resigned to the commitment...
