In today's society one must acknowledge that society's rules should be changed, therefore "An Eye for an Eye" would improve everyone's life. In today's world rules are changed for different people depending on their status. The concept of "an eye for an eye" has been around for decades. An Eye for and eye, a life for a life, is a famous lex talionis. "Lex talionis is a form of corporal punishment that demanded 'an eye for an eye'"(Criminal). The Bible mentions it, and people have been using it regularly for centuries. One may use it in reference to burglary, adultery, love and many other situations. However, some people use it on a different level, some people use it in reference to death. One steals from those who have stolen from him, one wrongs those who have wronged him, but do we really have the right to kill those who have killed?
