Child Pornography and Home Photos

In March 2000 the mother of an eight-year old girl was arrested for taking pornographic photos of her daughter in the bathtub. Cynthia Stewart a 48 year old school bus driver was suspended from her job in Oberlin, Ohio due to the allegations (Sheeran A6). This case brings up many questions about child porn and adult porn with models or actresses dressing to look younger. If the child is an animated character on the Internet, is that harmful to any one other than that person who is indulging their minds with unnatural thoughts? Some would say that animated porn is encouraging actual child porn and even worse, child molestations, rape and abuse (Bickel). Also, adult porn stars portraying younger people has caused an uproar because the subject looks so young and are doing what minors would do, such as: gymnastics, wearing schoolgirl outfits and putting their hair in pigtails.
So how far is too far for family photos, or family videos? If Cynthia is convicted, then will it no longer be legal to videotape your child being born or even take pictures of your child as an infant? There is a fine line between child porn and just plain old pictures. If a child is being exploited to the public and forced to be in pictures then it is porn, but if they are not used for ill thoughts, then it is just a picture (Bushman)...
