Defiance to God
The novel 1984 by George Orwell is a book filled with thoughts that come from outside the Christian mindset and have polluted the people in the book. There are thoughts of adultery, killing, hatred, stealing and many others that would not be pleasing to a Christian. Orwell presents scenes in this book that directly contradict the teachings of the bible. The moral standard through out the book is a non-christian standard set for the people because sex, killing, stealing and many other things are acceptable.
The ministries in this book have names that sound normal and would not bring harsh thoughts to ones mind. In actuality these names given to the ministries are the exact opposite of what really goes on in them. There are three ministries: the Ministry of Peace, which wages war; the Ministry of Plenty, which plans economic shortages; and the dreaded Ministry of Love, the center of the Inner Party's loathsome activities. On top of these three ministries there are also the thought police who controls every aspect of their lives because they monitor what everyone is thinking and one cannot do anything without them knowing. There are people in this city that do not care what is going on or just simply do not realize but there are people like Winston who are very concerned and are trying to overcome the Inner Party.
The thought police do not allow citizens to keep a diary because it is a violation to their policies...
