How have my ideas of aggression been shaped by the viewing and reading of the set

Through studying the set texts and related articles, my ideas about aggression have been shaped and built up on the basis that aggression is natural response to any sort of stressful or threatening situation. The song Thoughtless by Korn and the film 12 Angry Men both show how external factors can cause a lot of aggressive behaviour, while the text After the First Death shows that for some people, aggression is a way of life. The self-titled poem by Jim Jones is similar to "Thoughtless" in that it tells the story of a man who wants to avenge his oppressors because of their injustice done towards him.
The tendency to react aggressively arises from the basic human instinct to survive. From the moment a baby is born they have a natural instinct to survive by crying and yelling for food when it is hungry. As we grow up and mature into adults, our level of aggression is influenced by our experience of the world. This experience is affected by the type of society that we are brought up into, and what we learn as acceptable behaviour from all facets of life, including people around us, the media and what we hear or see in our day to day experiences.
The film 12 Angry Men & the prose fiction After the first Death both suggest throughout their storylines that aggression can be natural, while the way it is expressed and how it is used is learned throughout life's experiences.
