Teaching styleMosston and Ashworth Teaching Styles Mosston and Ashworth (1986) have produced a ‘Spectrum of Teaching Styles’. At one end of the spectrum the teacher makes all the decisions, at the other end the learner makes them all. In between the teacher and the learner is involved in the decision. This is about each of the teaching styles and what they are about. Command Style- this is for the learner to be able to do the task accurately and within a certain period of time. The teacher has full control of the group and gives all the instructions, and the learner does what he or she has been told. It is based on Stimulus-Response. Practice Style- offers the learner the time to work individually, and the teacher time to give appropriate feedback. If the style is teacher-rotated, the teacher will prepare several tasks for the learners to do using tasks sheets.
