sad story

It was a sunny afternoon, when the small dead body was found. She was only six years old and already felt the scary pain of being abused and tortured in the sadist possible way until her death. Her long blond hair covered her childish face, and spots of blood contributed to decorate that sickening scene. It was an atrocity… She had marks all over her body, and her eyes were so closed, as if they never wanted to be opened again. Just taking a fast look at her, you could realize that she had faming for a long period of time. She was tremendously skinny, so much so that her bones stocked out from her skin. Her condition was depressing. Mud protruded out of her nostrils and mouth, and worms were already feasting from her remains. When she arrived at the crime scene, she stayed astonished. Detective Laura Spencer had never felt so devastated in her whole life. Only a painful and deep tear went down her chick, and then she left forever that horrible place, where she had witnessed her worst nightmare ever… The case was never solved. Ten years later, Detective Spencer had to interrogate a peculiar man, who declared himself guilty for kidnapping and murdering seven little girls. All of them were in the police files, first reported as lost, and then, reported as assassinated. Only six corpses were found. Still, they all had similar characteristics as well. They lived approximately in the same area, were between six and eight years old, white, with long blond hair, and mostly of them went to Catholic schools. Detective Spencer clearly recognized that the strange man was the one who committed those crimes. Nobody could be so well up to date of the many details that he described than the one who executed them. Obviously, this was his confession… However, for a perverse and sick man like this one, it was unbelievable to accept as true that he wanted no more than to declare his assassinations. The detective knew that there existed something bigger behind his announcement, and she was anxious to discover what it was. Detective Laura Spencer was very sensitive. She had an exceptional perception to become aware of the other’s reactions, and mostly, if someone was telling the truth or not. She believed in her senses and they helped her to climb too many walls, which most women could not even see. This woman was very courageous, and therefore, she struggled against everything to solve whatever case crossed her way. Except for a single one, which remained in her hearth and never stopped frustrating her in nightmares. It did not pass too long when the strange man was taken into the interrogatory room. He seemed very calmed, as if he never did anything. His facial expressions irradiated peace, but at the same time, tenseness. It was very difficult to stay in that room without experiencing several feelings at a same time. Just imagining that reserved look-alike man tearing down the lives of those little girls caused repugnance. And how to treat, and how to speak to a man, which more than a man was a beast, was very weird. Images of those poor childish victims flourished in the minds of the ones inside that witty room. There are no words to explain what was going on there. He answered clearly, demonstrating that he was satisfied of collaborating with the investigation. His name was Bernard Collins, but was better known as “Benny”. Funny, isn’t it? Nobody would ever imagine such a sweet name for such a living creature… Confusion was the attitude of the ones who were watching him, but at the same time, who already witnessed the product of his dementia. Benny had a modest appearance. He looked clean, very well dressed (even though of his old-fashioned style) and also looked friendly. He had good manners and the tone of his voice never raised up, not even when there was a lot of pressure and the interrogators badly treated him. This man was exceptionally patient, and this quality got the police officers exhausted.
