Forrest Gump: Innocence But Touching Although the critics may dislike and find Forrest Gump an unqualified film to win several Academy Awards, I think Forrest Gump is a good movie and deserves all the praises. While I love the film for the quality of its acting, writing, significance, and special effects, the critics are judging its meaning and value with many arguments to support their ideas. Forrest Gump is the story of a young man from Alabama who manages to play a role in every landmark postwar events (1994). As a little boy, Forrest turns his running skill into a secret weapon that allows him to run away from troubles, flourishes in football, and survives from Vietnam War. Then, he gets into the antiwar movement, helps open China with his Ping-Pong skills, turns out to be rich in the shrimp business, and starts a running fashion across the states. As his life is changing throughout the film, Forrest’s deep love for Jenny, which is so purely innocent, has not changed. Finally, the film ends with its happiness and sweetness as Forrest comes back and lives in Alabama with his son who Jenny had left before she died from AIDs.
