Constant Acceleration 10.9 Investigation Purpose: The purpose of this lab was to determine the acceleration of an object sliding or rolling down a ramp. Hypothesis: The hypothesis is that once the car starts moving the dots on the ticker tape will be closer together and then they will slowly move farther apart at each time interval. Materials:-Smooth board -Books -Low friction cart -Ticker tape timer -Clamp and stand -One meter of ticker tape -Small piece of masking tape -Metre stick Procedure: -Raise end of board with textbooks -Clamp the timer to the top of the board -Set and hold the cart near the ticker timer tape -Insert the ticker tape through the timer and attach the end of the tape to the cart with a piece of masking tape -Catch the cart at the bottom of the ramp -Count the dots and make sure that there are no dots missing and that they are clear -Identify the first group of dots and label them group one -Record the distances from each dot on the ticker tapeConstant Acceleration 10.9 Investigation Purpose: The purpose of this lab was to determine the acceleration of an object sliding or rolling down a ramp.
