Renewable Energy: Renewing Our Source of Life
Throughout history, man's quest to improve his quality of life has never seemed to wane. In his pursuit of this better quality of life, man has continued to utilize the environment with such vengeance that not for one second has man ever looked back, looked back on a world whose natural resources are slowly being depleted as a result of man's seemingly insatiable demand for energy. That demand will of course forever persist but what we can do is find ways to satisfy that demand with more economical and more importantly environment-friendly sources of energy which do not exhaust the earth's resources; in other words, renewable energy.
Renewable energy does not require a hardcore environmentalist to understand. It simply refers to sources of energy that can almost never be completely exhausted. With such a simple definition, the use of renewable energy could significantly benefit not only our environment but also our lives as well.
First, renewable energy provides for greater efficiency and increased power accessibility. The continuous blackouts of the early 90s and even most recently the power outages in the United States were the result of inefficient power systems. These systems were based on conventional forms of energy such as oil or gas power. The only way by which we can prevent such outages from transpiring once again is to diversify our power sources...
