Movies made from books can be very different or very similar in the case of The Old Man and the Sea I feel it is almost equal in both similarities and differences.
Initially, there are several noticeable discrepancies between the novel and the film. For example, in the book there are only two main characters and in the movie there are a few more. For example in the book Santiago tells us about the marlin and its mate and how the male stayed by his female tell she was truly gone, but in the movie the young boy told the tourists.
