Zebra's Stripes Coursework
Aim:
To find out whether or not a Zebra's stripes is what keeps them cool.
Equipment:
A striped beaker
A black beaker
A white beaker
Clock timer
Kettle
Polystyrene Lid
Thermometer (0.5 c)
Measuring Cylinder
Plan:
Boil the kettle fully until it 'clicks' off
Immediately pour 350ml of water using the measuring cylinder into the chosen beaker
Replace the polystyrene lid rapidly
Insert the thermometer in the hole at the top of the lid.
Wait 10 seconds, allow thermometer to get the first reading at 90 degrees Celsius.
Record your first reading at (which should be 90degree Celsius) and start the clock.
Every minute for 10minutes take a reading.
When completed do another specified beaker from the equipment list.
To make this a fair test I will put the same amount of water which is 350ml each time I fill a beaker. I will also make sure that I boil the kettle completely each time in order to make no dramatic changes in my results on each interval. I will record the temperature on a 0...
