GLOBAL WATER CRISIS
Of all the water in the world 3% is fresh, less than a third of 1% of this is unavailable to humans and the rest is frozen in glaciers or polar ice caps.
AUSTRALIAS WATER CRISIS
Australia is the driest continent on earth, but we are the greatest consumers of water per capita. Australians use more than I million litres of fresh water per person each year. This is amazingly enough to fill Sydney Harbour 48 times over. This is attributed to 70% is agricultural irrigation, 9% to other rural uses, 9% to industrial uses and 12% to domestic uses. As you can see from the information just stated is that the second largest amount of water is used for domestic uses. This is what you in your own home can reduce through reading and using the information provided in this brochure to replenish Australia's water supply.
WHY SHOULD WE?
The need to build more damns is an expensive and environmentally harmful course of action. Also other repercussions to major water reducing moves are to expensive which is why we need to learn what we can do to save water in our homes...
