Buddhism Elements found in the movie Ground Hog Day

Bill Murray plays a weather forecaster, who is covering a news story in a small town about a local ritual. There is a snowstorm forecasted so he is forced to remain there for the second night. When he wakes up the next day, he discovers that it is the morning of the day before. As the movie progresses we see that he keeps living the same day over and over again. The cycle in which he finds himself is comparable to the cycle of death and rebirth, which is known as Pratitya Samputpada. The Buddhist believes that a person has to keep working throughout ones lifetime and following reincarnations to reach liberation. They strive to reach this goal by being moral and practicing meditation.
Bill Murray's character in the beginning of the movie cannot deal with the fact that he is living the same day over and over again, kind of living in avidya. As the movie progresses he learns to accept his reality. This is kind of like saying that he accepts Dukka (suffering) which is reality, which is an unavoidable fact of life...
