In my opinion there are both advantages disadvantages to having surveillance cameras in public places the ways they are used need to be strictly controlled by law to protect the individual's right to privacy.
There are many advantages to the use of surveillance cameras. they improve public safety by preventing crimes such as assault and drug dealing. They help police to identify criminals when crimes do happen. advantage is that CCTV is economical - cameras enable police to monitor a number of places at the same time from a single control room, and cut down on the number of police officers needed.
