How the views of the characters reflect the times

In Sophocles' Antigone, the character with the most favourable, respectable views and opinions in accordance with the times is Antigone. In Anouilh's version, Creon appears as the most realistic character with the most supportable opinions and views in retrospect with the times. As these two characters are the most agreeable, we may therefore suggest that they convey the political, religious and family thoughts, views and opinions of their authors. The views differ greatly between Sophocles and Anouilh in correspondence with the times in which they were written, i.e. Ancient Greece (Sophocles) and WWII France (Anouilh), thus we may assume that the two characters represent the views and thoughts of their times.
One of the most important aspects of life to Antigone is family. In the beginning of the play Antigone chooses to bury her brother Polynices despite the decree declared by Creon, forbidding anyone to bury or even mourn the death of Polynices. In spite of this, Antigone is determined to bury her brother and defy the law. In attempting to bury her brother, she is risking her life, but her love for him and family is too great, so consequently she condemns herself to death...
