It is a revolution is sharing data. Now employees in an office share data and communicate at lightening fast speeds. Even Joe Schmoe can share files and even tap into a warp speed internet connection from the comfort of his own home. How is this all possible you ask? It Is a technology called a Local Area Network (LAN). Having a LAN allows people to share files, programs, internet access, and communicate using multiple computers within a local work space.
There are many different kinds of networks. Some networks are designed to share information on a large scale and some networks are designed to share information on a smaller scale.
