Specific Purpose: To convince my audience to wear their seatbelts each and every time they get into a vehicle.
Central Idea: To inform my audience why they should use their seatbelts. I will use some personal examples, facts, and a few statistics to show them the importance of wearing a seatbelt every time they get in a vehicle.
Introduction:
Attention statement- Derrick Thomas, a professional linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs, died February 8 ,2000. He died two weeks after breaking his back in a car accident. He died at the age of 33. He and a friend were ejected from the car. His friend also died. Another passenger suffered only minor injuries. Do you want to guess who was wearing their seat belt and who wasn't?..
