I do not understand why anyone would choose pain and suffering over eternal life with the God of the universe. Although this might sound like a silly, even ridiculous, question that is what you do when you reject Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Christianity is the right way to go. The first thing I would like to discuss is afterlife and possessions. In the Sumerian religion, the afterlife is believed to be a very dismal place. However, in Christianity, Heaven is a wonderful place, filled with God's glory. Matthew 13:44 states that "The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field." According to Christianity, the afterlife, if you choose to accept Jesus as you Savior, is a joyful time of praise and thanks.
