Islamic art describes the art that is created in the service of Islam, as well as the secular art produced in the lands under Islamic rule or influence. The term, Islamic art, suggests an art unified in style and purpose. This is a highly dynamic art which is often marked by significant influences from other culture. Islamic religion has fostered the creation of a distinctive visual culture with its own unique artistic language. Islamic art takes on many different art forms. Architecture, calligraphy, arabic chants, paintings, sculptures, music, poetry, and literature. There are many ways in which islamic art distinguishes itself from the art of other religions. To fully understand the differences, you must first understand the different types of islamic art that exsists.
