Vintage Nike Identification
How do you do to recognize a true pair of vintage Nike from the 70's and 80's ?
To us a pair of Vintage Nike isn't Vintage anymore once it has been released after 1992 or retro-ed or re-edited by Nike Here are several hints
1. The early Vintage running Nike shoes featured an "orange swoosh" on the tongue tag. Mostly vintage Nike running models from the 70's, and the vintage Nike running sneakers also came with the famous "Waffle Sole" , made by Bill Bowerman . The sole shape was made out of a "Waffle maker machine". Hence the expression: "a pair of vintage Nike waffle runner".
The orange swoosh on the tongue was featured until the beginning of the 80's era. Now , if you have a pair of vintage Nike from 1982 , for instance you will see that the Nike logo is in a Block letter way and the tag tongue logo is usually matching the swoosh colour of the Vintage Nike sneaker
2. You can tell the age of your Nike running shoe by looking at the first two numbers of the serial number.
The serial number in a shoe from the 70's and 80's is inside the shoe at the ankle level on the left or right side or at the end the tongue on the inside of the shoe (most of the time for the original Nike Original Waffle or Nike Oregon Waffle)...
