Learning about psychological disorders interests me because at some points in time I have also had brief symptoms of the mood disorder depression. It’s only human to become depressed in certain situations but these moments gives us insight in to what patients that suffer from depression truly feel like. I myself have had encountered family and friends suffering from depression so that is where my interest commenced in learning about this disorder. Explanations or causes of depression have far evolved from believing a curse or evil workings at play to Bio-Psycho-Social Perspectives. In this paper, I will discuss the mood disorder depression, reflect upon common symptoms of the disorder and causes while also giving references to current solutions and treatments. ...
