"As I wandered lonely as a cloud," by William Wordsworth is a poem that was written during the romantic period. After reading it, it is very clear to see why it was written during the romantic period. If we look at what the poem is saying in my own words, the imagery used in the poem, the impression that this poem leaves, and my opinion on this poem, it is very possible to see why this poem is considered a romantic poem, and why Wordsworth was considered a romantic poet.
What this poem says in my own words is that a person, the speaker is walking a long. Somewhere in a valley over some hills, when this person sees a group of daffodils, they are swaying back and forth in the wind, and are right beside a lake and under a tree. The sight of the daffodils was so lovely that he compared them to the sparkling stars that shine so bright. Comparing them to the stars how they stretched in a never-ending line. The speaker even thought that the dancing daffodils were even more beautiful than the waves moving in the lake. The speaker was very happy to see such a sight. In the last stanza it has the speaker sitting home on his couch and he recollects on what he had seen...
