Kentucky Fried Chicken Strengths
In the mid 60's, Colonel Sanders, the founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken, had invented what is now called "home replacement meals". KFC was selling complete meals to hurried, time strapped families, calling it "Sunday Dinner, Seven Days a week". In 1966 KFC had made its way to the New York Stock Exchange. KFC was listed as #6 in sales and market shares of the top 50 U.S. fast-food restaurants in 1999, and in 2000 it became the worlds largest chicken franchise controlling 55 % of the shares of the chicken market. There are over 12,000 KFC's in the world, 5,500 restaurants in the U.S., and 6,516 restaurants located throughout the rest of the world; serving nearly 8 billion customers a year, and generating 10 billion dollars in sales annually.
