For my faculty interview, I have chosen Professor Winkler, I chose her because she is the only professor that I have that I feel comfortable enough with to ask questions. She was very open about letting me ask her questions and she has been so understandable when I missed classes when I was sick. She and I had a difficult time setting up an appointment but it worked out.
Professor Winkler didn't start out as a teacher when she graduated high school. She was a travel agent for many years. She wanted to go back to school because she loved working with teenagers and young adults. She went to school at the University of Illinois for her degree in education. She was planning on being an English teacher, because she loves to read and write. Seeing as she didn't have much money, she saw that scholarships were being offered for math teachers. Professor Winkler then decided to change her major to be a math teacher, because she did not have much money at the time...
