Character Analysis of Borders and Saturday Climbing

Human beings keep trying until they have accomplished their task. In stories "Borders" by Thomas King, "Saturday Climbing" by W. Valgardson illustrates characters as they try to improve their relationship within their family. The mother in "Borders" and Berry, the father in "Saturday Climbing" share very similar characteristics. They are both very proud and they both face problems with their kids. Although the mother and the father have similar characteristics, they differ when it comes to the decision making. The mother is happy if her daughter's happy and the father makes all the decisions without the concern of his daughter. Despite all the similarities and differences, both characters succeed as parents in each story.
King and Valgardoson's protagonist, both are very proud of who they are. Each character tries so hard to maintain their identity as parents in each stories...
