Question 1.
The Native Americans who lived in the Eastern part of the United States had Adapted them self to live in this wooded area. They participated in agriculture in a way that did not harm or destroy the land. These tribes of the eastern costal plains were very good at utilizing this wooded area they lived in. There homes were made of wooden poles and bark, everything from their utensils to their weapons were fashioned from wood or bark. In a way they had adapted their technological system to the unique environment they had inhabited. Population was low and pace of life was slow and also"there technological system was not capable of profoundly or permanently disturbing the environment".
With the arrival of the Europeans the pace of change quickened and the changes started to look permanent and profound. The Europeans brought with them a technological and social system that they had practiced for many thousands of years somewhere else in to the native American life. In the beginning they borrowed survival skills from the natives in order to settle in the area but once this was accomplished they recreated the social and technological world of Europe...
