Sacred Space at Angkor Wat
Numerous artists of different cultures took part of documenting one of the true wonders of the world, Angkor Wat. Overall, fifty-eight images in Sacred Space capture the grand scope of the artistic and architectural power of Angkor. Two documentations occurred at Angkor Wat one in the nineteenth century and another in the twentieth. The French first captured the beauty and the state of preservation, while the Americans soon came and tried to understand the meaning of the sacred site. Both parties uncovered the secrets and beauty of the ancient site using photography as their medium. However, there are noticeable differences and similarities in the two parties' techniques in documenting their journey. Their documentation helped others understand another culture, while showing the monuments magnificent architectural presence.
