Slapshot
Most people think the harder you swing to hit the puck, the faster it will
go. As in all sports, taking a slapshot is about technique and practice. Before you
can master the slapshot you must learn how to skate, or at least be able to keep
good balance on skates so you don't fall over when you swing for the puck.
When you can skate or keep your balance on skates, you must have a stick that
fits you. The stick should be about as high as your chin to nose when standing.
Once you have the prerequisites met, you have to have a balanced
stance, with legs about shoulder width apart, and slightly bent at the knees.
Keep your weight on your back leg, which will depend on whether you hold the
stick in your right or left hand. Turn your body towards your target so that your
shoulder faces the target...
