Have you ever taken the time to consider how you feel about conscription, the believe that a country has the right to force mandatory civil service on its citizens, more commonly known as "a draft"? Before discussing the main topic of this paper, it will be necessary to define and explain the word "draft". " The military draft, also called conscription or national service, is a system of selecting men, and occasionally women, for required military service. According to Webster the word "draft" means: to select. On a compulsory basis; to conscript for military service. A Military draft is the practice of a government forcibly conscripting members of the population into the armed forces (Draft 1). This is a violation of the right to life, an initiation of force by the state against the individual, and a betrayal of the purpose of the government (Landauer 1).In this paper I will speak about the three main issues that support my views about the draft, unjust wars, the physiological aspect of the draft and the effectiveness of the draft.
