My Lai Massacre vs Kent State University Incident

I believe that the My Lai Massacre and the Kent State University incident were comparable in many ways bit still differed in some areas. They were, however, more different than similar. In each confrontation there were lives lost by innocent people. Many people say that the whole town of My Lai was innocent of any actions against the military and most were not even proven sympathetic to the communist party. During the Kent State University incident, innocent students were killed as they walked to the next class. However, a few number of students were killed at Kent State whereas the whole town of My Lai were slaughtered.
In both cases, the soldiers were ordered to the scene and told to do things that they were evidently did not want to do. In My Lai, the soldiers were ordered to wipe out this town of people. When all was said and done, they found no weapons in the possession of the inhabitants of My Lai. Those people were unarmed and friendly to the soldiers...
