There are many different kinds of essays, short essays, long essays, Cause and Effect, Persuading essays, but the main type of essay is called a 5-paragraph essay. Its pretty simple, just 5 paragraphs! An introductory paragraph, 3 body paragraphs, and a conclusion paragraph. This essay will not only help you to write a basic essay, it will also give hints and tips to making your essay the best!
First you want to write you introductory paragraph. This consists of general points and attention grabbing details leading to the main idea. Most writers like to use a "hook" in their intro paragraph. It usual can begin with an interesting fact, question, or quote. The main idea is written at the end of the paragraph in a thesis statement, which can contain a few reasons for supporting the main idea.
