In Nature's Gifts, We Rejoice was the theme of which I was to base my year 10 major work. I considered what I thought was important in the natural world but soon realised that if I was to compose an essay of any meaning or character I was going to have to think about what the world values as well as myself. Nature defined in the Collins Australian English dictionary is: A whole system of existence, forces, and events of the physical world that are not controlled by human beings; fundamental or essential qualities of a person or thing; kind or sort. I immediately thought of the environment - Oceans, Mountains, forests, the undisturbed paradises. But after rereading the sentence I came up with a different angle. Nature isn't always a physical feature . . . Time is an aspect of nature.
