Punch-Drunk Love
Punch Drunk Love is a unique comedy with thoughtful direction. Punch Drunk Love written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. He uses a camera that slinks along hallways and around corners; panoramic stills empty streets and grocery stores, over-amplified sound effects and eccentric surprises. I think this is some of Adam Sandler's best acting. I really enjoyed seeing him in something besides his normal settings. His personality made the movie. The circumstances in this film make me feel the characters emotions. Punch Drunk Love is a film like no other and is one of my favorite movies to watch when I need a push into reality.
Adam Sandler, plays Barry Egan in a performance which both reveals new depths to his acting and plays off of his established on-screen persona, in which Sandler is casted against type from his usual comedy films. We learn about characters by observing their actions, this film is a lot of watching and learning Egan's every move...
