When comparing the two movies, The African Queen and When Harry met Sally, we come across many similarities as well as differences. One obvious comparison between these two films is that they are both classic romantic comedy films. And in most romantic movies, these are always some tension in the beginning of the film between the two main characters. This pattern is often used to soften the character personalities toward one another till the end, so they end up falling in love.
The movie, When Harry met Sally takes place when Sally is driving to New York with her friend. Harry is Sally's friends boyfriend ends up catching a ride with them. That's where all the tension is first introduced. While driving to New York, Harry and Sally engage in a conflicting debate. Harry beings this by stating that men and women can't be friends because sex gets in the way. This only increases the tension between them and it makes Sally pretty angry...
