Lyndon Baines Johnson was born August 27, 1928 in Stonewall, Texas. He was the son of Sam Ealy Johnson, Jr., and Rebekah Baines Johnson. Lyndon was the first child of five children to come along. When he was young his grandfather would tell people that he would be a United States Senator (Archives Staff 1).
When Johnson was fifteen he graduated from Johnson City high school. Lyndon did not pursue a higher education but left to California with some friends but soon came back and worked for a construction business.
