Nothing beats the sense of pride you feel when you make ice cream from scratch and homemade ice cream is fun and easy to make. How many times have children wanted their parents to go to the store for some ice cream? The parents usually replied, "No I can't go right now. I am really busy." Well no need to fear because making homemade ice cream has never been simpler. In order to create this wonderful stuff at home, all you need is time - and the right equipment. There are numerous commercial off the shelf ice cream makers that can range from $30 to $1500. No need to fear all a child needs to make homemade ice cream is laying around the house and it does not cost you a dime.
All you need to get started on this fun-filled adventure is
2 cups whole milk (add cream or powdered milk to 2% or skim milk)
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Flavoring, such as chocolate or fruit syrups, or Kool-Aid type powder.
3lb coffee can with plastic lid, or something similar
