ARTH 282 Introduction to the Visual Arts Extra credit Assignment Sneha Karandikar July 30, 2003 Faculty: - Loretta Swanson The Art Institute of Chicago, a place that I decided that I would go and visit and select an original piece of art and analyze its form and content. Anyone would agree what an easy way to score some points, but when I finally reached the museum I figured out that narrowing down one’s choice to just one painting was a tough decision. I could say that the painting selected by me got the benefit of my bias be cause even before having a look at this painting I was fascinated by the its style and was anxious to see this work of art. I am going to discuss the painting A Sunday on La Grande Jatte by the renowned post-impressionist artist Georges Seurat. A Sunday on La Grande Jatte is made in a medium of oil on canvas.
