It's Friday night, time to put all the work worries and school stresses behind you. You find yourself at the local club or bar, maybe at a friend's house, almost immediately you need some in this social situation. You start drinking alcohol or roll a couple joints, perhaps a little of both. This behavior is normal and acceptable, it's deemed conducive to "loosening up" at social gatherings. However, many people won't stop at a couple beers or the weekend. These people are addicts. An addict is someone who doesn't realize he or she has a problem until the proof is undeniable, the he or she will not accept this fact out of fear and anger towards the situation.
In the song "Sober", released in 1992 by the band Tool, the struggle of an addict unfolds before the listener. The drum and bass line is a dark, organic rhythm which creates a somatic process in the music. It is the stability in the song, sounding similar to a beating heart...
