Martin Luther King's, "Letter from Birmingham Jail", was simple, straightforward and easy to comprehend. However, it was not until I saw the movie Mississippi Burning that I could truly understand what King was talking about and the reason for his direct action. Throughout the movie, many scenes and people directly related to the topics brought up by King; most closely, the opposite personalities of the characters Mr. Ward and Mr. Anderson. Throughout the movie, their conflicting views about morals clearly identify the issue of fighting evil and injustice and remaining moral human beings in an immoral world.
King opened his letter by telling why he was in Birmingham in the first place. His most prominent reason was, "I am in Birmingham because injustice is here." After watching Mississippi Burning, I was able to see what he meant by that statement. The mistreatment of human beings because of their skin color was clearly shown...
