The SOAHC in Xintiandi, I always recognized it as a tea shop, though Ive been there countless times. Until one friend ordered dinner at there, I realized its a restaurant.
The restaurants theme, which is said to be the masterpiece of Hongkong actress He,Lili and her daughter, is two entirely different but characteristic Cuisine--Yangzhou Cuisine and Sichuan Cuisine. Im really curious about what this combination would be. One is simple and lite, and the other is spicy and gamy.
The restaurants, including SOAHC, in Xintiandi have one generality which is the luxury of magnificence and creativity in the typical Shikumen building.
Seeing through the chinese style window on the first flour, I found it was not chinese style everywhere, the patio was made like a mini zigzag bridge, very simple. There are cyprinoids swimming under the green lotus leaf in the pond. There is a mini waterfall on the wall.
The second flour is totally different...
